Writing a Short Film (Edinburgh)
An introduction to writing for the screen.

Workshop Objectives:
Participants will develop an understanding of what material is best suited to short films, how to structure the story and how to position their screenplay to get made and seen

Topics will include:
How to select and develop suitable ideas for a short film
The narrative elements of a short film screenplay (characters, plot, dialogue)
Story structure for short films.
What are the roles of the writer/director/producer and how do they interact?
What to do with the screenplay when it is completed.
